Presented is a wonderful engraved glass and sterling silver basket produced by new york hawkes in the 1920s. The engraving around the bowl features a cabin in the pines with a happy sun face and bright morning star beaming from above in a clear sky.The bowl or basket has a sterling silver rim and a swivel handle. The cartridge at the top of the handle was never monogram. Hawkes signed the bowl inside the silver handle, \"sterling hawkes,\" and an identification number \"37.
\" The condition of the room is excellent, without cracks or chips. There is normal surface wear on the underside, as you can see in the photos. There is also a very small dent (6 mm) in the rim of the bowl, and what appears to be 3, minute (3 mm) of test points.
Dimensions: The diameter of the bowl is 6 inches. It's 2 3/4 inches high not counting the handle. With the handle raised the height is 6 1/4 inches. Weight: 2 pounds 10 oz.
