Bowl Of Walnuts    Bowl Of Walnuts

Very nice bowl of Irish walnuts figured. This bowl of nuts is made from a fallen tree. The tree is from the birthplace of the explorer artic ernest shackleton.

Walnuts are very rare in Ireland due to the climate and will only grow in well-sheltered positions. The wood is different from black walnut, really amazing lines and colors everywhere. Handmade in two steps on a turn, first the bowl was turned when green, then seasoned for 4 to 6 months. When the bowl has been re-mounted on the turn and the finish turned. The outside of the bowl is sanded at 320 grains and the inside at 400 grains. The sand seal is applied and a polishing follows this.

Finish: Safe Danish food oil is applied in two layers to reveal natural colours and seal the wood. Size: about 11\" in diameter and 3\" in depth.

This item is made of wood.
