Eapg Covered Compote Bowl, Bryce Walker And Co., Imperial, Maltese Cross, Pressed Glass, Ladder And Diamond, 1870s, Centerpiece, Antique
Eapg covered compote bowl, bryce walker and co. Imperial, maltese cross, pressed glass, ladder and diamond pattern, 1870s, centerpiece, antique. A beautiful bowl of eapg (early american pressed glass) from bryce, walker and company. This bowl dates from the 1870s and is pressed and made of enchandais glass. The pattern is called imperial and consists of a scale and diamond design. It is a hemispheric shape with a flat scalloped rim and a global strawberry diamond pattern alternating with horizontal bars outside the body known as ladder and diamond or sometimes called Jacob scale. This is attached to a hollow foot in the shape of a trumpet with vertical panels and a scale and diamond design around the base. The dome-shaped cover is also the scale and diamond design with a heavily pressed finish in the shape of a Maltese cross. This room is museum-grade and I found only another room like this, in excellent condition with cover, in the corning museum of corning n glass. The bowl is heavy and the glass clear.
